A review of 2015
Feeling a sense of failure about six months into the year I moved my own goal posts and am ashamed to say that I have still not succeeded in accomplishing some of my goals for the year.
One would think I'd learn from this, but no. I now feel in order to regain some self esteem I must finish the tasks I set myself this year as well as the new (probably unrealistic) targets for 2016.
It's interesting to look retrospectively at the year as despite not achieving some goals I'm pleased to acknowledge that I've not been completely idle.
In January I was awarded 5th place in the Society For All Artists "Snow Challenge". I was also chosen by the SAA to write a review on MaimeriBlu watercolours.
I painted thirty six new paintings, sold twenty-four originals, wrote thirteen new tutorials, set four new challenges, and wrote a further forty other articles.
My studio/gallery was refurbished in March and I held fifteen open studio weekends and welcomed over one hundred people.
I've taken on more private tuition this year and held workshops at The Pheasant, two from my studio, and one at Henny.
Thank you for supporting me this year whether by liking, commenting on or sharing my work or by buying a painting, print, or card to sent to a friend.
When you're pouring your heart into something that's a solitary pursuit with often only yourself to criticise and judge feedback is so important. Yours lifted my spirits and made me feel valued, which is a priceless gift. Thank you.
