Louise Morton set herself the goal of recording the family farm in watercolour. I caught up with her over lunch and asked her to let us know how she's getting on. Here's our interview, including a few of the many paintings Louise has produced.
Interviews with other artistsI met Matt through Twitter. Interested in his work, I had a look at his website. What caught my attention, apart from his paintings, was that he makes stringent restrictions for himself in order to produce his work.
"I'm not really interested in easy things." he said. "The thrill is overcoming problems one by one so there are small and larger rewards all the time. I always get the best results when I'm not really thinking too hard, it’s sort of existential." I don't know any one else like that. ;) Interviews with other artists.I first met Beverley on Redbubble and now on Facebook. I love her loose style. Her enthusiasm for watercolour is infectious. Who wouldn't want to get their paints out having seen these wonderful paintings?
Interviews with other artists. It was my great pleasure to have been given the opportunity to interview International Artist, Trevor Waugh.
Seeing Trevor's watercolours many years ago inspired me to persevere in my quest to learn how to paint. In particular the play of light in his painting of ducks, see below. Interviews with other artists. There is no need for me to introduce you to Ann's work, you will already be familiar with it. However, I recently had the opportunity to talk to Ann about her style and method of working and I have great pleasure in publishing that interview for you now.
Interviews with other artists.I met Jacki on Redbubble, an on line marketplace for artists which provides a print on demand product service. I was immediately drawn to her experimental style and wanted to interview her to find out a little more about her and her methods of working.
Interviews with other artists.Ann was an inspiration to me when I first began to paint. Up until that point I, like many others, thought watercolours meant "pale and wishy washy". When I saw her vibrant paintings in books and magazines and they encouraged me to be bold and put in those darks!
Ann, many thanks for being such a wonderful watercolour artist and so generously sharing your knowledge with us in your books and DVD's. Answering My Own Interview questions.I have asked other artists if they would answer some questions, in the form of an interview, so you can see what methods they employ. I hope that by doing so it will demonstrate that there is no right or wrong way to paint. We are all individuals and our work should reflect that.
Much to my amazement and delight I have had a few replies but they have suggested that I answer my own questions first. So here they are:- |
