Why? Because...
Buying a colour wheel is not helpful. The printing process changes how the colours look so the colours you have will not match the printed ones. All you will have is basic colour theory. We’re going to do so much more than this!
Why? Because...Using and understanding the colour wheel will help you mix the colour you want, which is one of the things beginners struggle with.

Click to see my gallery of Landscape Paintings or more of my New Paintings. Starting with the basic equipment.I taught myself to paint. It took a long time! With this in mind I wrote a course aiming to provide enough of the right information for someone to quickly produce paintings they were proud of.
If you'd like to start painting in watercolour, but don't know where to begin, I'll be posting regular articles, based on my six week course, to help guide you. I'll start at the beginning, by providing the list of equipment I recommend. At the end of 2013 I was taken on a trip to Venice by a friend in exchange for a painting! I was so inspired by the magnificent buildings there I was unable to settle on one single scene. I have now painted a series of around 20 watercolours. The original paintings (and framed prints of those that have sold) will be on display at The Pheasant in Gestingthorpe until the end of August 2014. The gallery of Venice paintings can also be viewed on my website. The same friend, who wishes to remain anonymous, has offered to make a donation to The Butterfly Group, a charity providing information and support for people with Autoimmune disorders. |
